Inviting Friends (Referrals)
Sharing eNepali with your friends is one of the nicest things you can do for the community. When someone joins through your link, they land right in the community you already love, and you both get to connect there. This page shows you how to invite friends and what they see when they open your link.
What inviting friends does
When you invite a friend from the app, eNepali creates a personal link that is tied to you. You send that link to your friend however you like, and when they open it they arrive in eNepali ready to look around and sign up. Because the link is yours, eNepali knows the two of you are connected once your friend joins.
You do not need any special code to remember or type. Everything happens through the link.
Your personal invite link is created for you by the Personal Referral option in the mobile app. Ordinary links you copy from the website or from a page you like are just plain content links, and they do not carry your referral. To connect a friend to you, send them the link the app prepares.
Inviting friends from the mobile app
The app has a dedicated place to invite friends.
- Open the eNepali app and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll down to the Settings section.
- Tap Personal Referral (it reads "Refer eNepali to your friends"). If you tap the small help icon next to it, you will see a short note titled Invite Friends.
- Your phone's normal share screen opens, with a friendly message and your personal link already filled in.
- Choose where to send it, for example WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger, Messages, or email, and send it to your friend.
The prepared message tells your friend a little about eNepali and includes your link, so you can send it as-is or add your own words first.
If your phone cannot open a share screen for some reason, eNepali copies the invite message and link to your clipboard instead, and you will see a small Copied confirmation. You can then paste it into any chat yourself.
If sharing could not be completed, you will see a brief Failed to share message. Just try again from the Personal Referral option.
Inviting friends from the web
The website does not have an invite button, and it does not generate a personal referral link for you. If you want to send a friend a link that connects them to you, use the Personal Referral option in the mobile app.
You can of course still share any eNepali page from the website by copying its address, but a plain page link like that is not tied to you and does not attribute your friend to you.
The mobile app has a dedicated Personal Referral option that builds your personal invite message for you in one tap. The website has no invite generator, so a personal, attributed invite link can only be created from the app.
What your invited friend sees
Your friend does not have to sign up before they can look around. When they open your link, eNepali drops them straight into the feed so they can explore first and join when they are ready.
On the web, a friend who arrived through your link may also see a helpful side panel on larger screens:
- A Create your free account card, inviting them to Sign up. This card disappears once they are signed in.
- A Get the eNepali app card, with a Google Play download button (and an App Store button where available). This card stays visible even after they sign in, so they can grab the app too.
The side panel with the "Create your free account" and "Get the eNepali app" cards appears only on the website, and only on wider desktop screens (roughly 1200 pixels wide and up). On narrow screens and in the app, your friend simply lands in the feed and can sign up whenever they like.

Good to know
- Your friend has time. After they open your link, eNepali remembers that they came from you for about a month, so they can look around first and sign up later while staying connected to you.
- You can invite as many friends as you like. Send your link to as many people as you want.
- Signing in first helps. Make sure you are signed in to your own eNepali account before you invite, so your invitation is properly linked to you.
- Use the app's invite option for attribution. Only the link prepared by Personal Referral in the app is tied to you. Sharing a business, event, or post from the app sends a plain content link, which is great for spreading the word but does not connect your friend to you.
Only invite people you actually know and think would enjoy eNepali. Sending your link to strangers or posting it in unrelated places is not what invitations are for.
