Products & Collections

Businesses and organizations on eNepali can showcase what they offer as products — sometimes grouped into collections — and shown across their profile, your feed, and search. This page shows you how to browse them, open a product, understand its details, and see how products connect back to the business behind them.

What a "product" is on eNepali

A product is simply an item a business wants to show you — a dish on a restaurant's menu, an item in a shop, a travel package, and so on. Because different businesses offer different things, eNepali labels the section and the items to fit each one:

  • A Restaurant shows its items under a Menu tab (individual items are called "Menu Items")
  • A Shop shows Products
  • A Travel Agency shows Packages
  • Other businesses show Products by default

So don't be surprised if you see "Menu" or "Packages" instead of "Products" — it's the same feature, just named to match the business. (A business can also set its own custom wording, so the exact label may vary.)

info

Every product belongs to a business. Wherever you see a product, you can tap the business name attached to it to jump straight to that business's profile.

Where you'll find products

You can come across products in several places:

  • On a business profile — most businesses have a section listing what they offer, shown as a grid of cards.
  • In your feed and search — individual products, and sometimes collections, can appear as you scroll or search, and you can open them directly.
  • In a collection — some businesses group related products together (for example, a seasonal menu or a category of items). Collections are opened from your feed, search, or a shared link, and in the mobile app they also appear on the business profile (see below).

Browsing products on a business profile

  1. Open a business profile (from your feed, from search, or by tapping a business name on any product).
  2. Find the section that lists what they offer — it may be labeled Products, Menu, or Packages depending on the business.
  3. Scroll through the grid. Each card shows the product photo, its name, and its price.
  4. If there are more items than fit on screen, keep scrolling (mobile) or use the load-more control (web) to see the rest.

If a business hasn't added anything yet, the section simply won't appear, or you'll see a short "No items yet." message.

Web vs App

Products on a business profile appear as a grid of cards on both platforms — two columns on phones and the website (the app may show three columns on wider screens like tablets). Tapping any card opens that product's full page.

The mobile app additionally shows a horizontal strip of that business's collection cards above the product grid, so you can open a collection right from the profile. The website does not list collections on the business profile — there you reach a collection through your feed, search, or a shared link.

Product collections

A collection is a group of products a business has bundled together. Opening a collection shows you its cover image, its title, the business that owns it, and every product inside.

To browse a collection:

  1. Open the collection (in the app, from a business profile, your feed, or a shared link; on the web, from your feed, search, or a shared link).
  2. You'll see the collection's cover image and title at the top, along with the business name.
  3. Below that, browse the products inside.
  4. Scroll to the bottom to see more — additional products load as you go.

If a collection is empty, you'll see a "No products in this collection" message.

Web vs App

The layout of a collection differs between platforms:

  • On the website, the products inside a collection are shown as a two-column grid of cards, with a Load more button at the bottom when there's more to see.
  • In the mobile app, the products are shown as a vertical list — each row has a thumbnail, name, price, and a chevron arrow — and more load automatically as you scroll. The app also shows a Follow button for the business near the top, and, when the collection has items, a small count of products.

You can share a collection using the share button. Collections don't have their own like, comment, or bookmark actions — those live on the individual products instead.

Opening a product

Tap or click any product card to open its full page. Here's what you'll see.

The product page

  • A large photo of the product at the top.
  • The name and price, shown together near the top.
  • The business that offers it — tap or click it to visit that business's profile.
  • A description with details about the item.
  • Action buttons to like, comment, share, and bookmark (more on these below).
  • Reviews, where available, so you can see what others think and add your own.

Web vs App

Both platforms show the same core details — photo, name, price, business, and description. A few things differ:

  • The mobile app shows the description under a labeled Description heading, adds a rating summary near the top where reviews are available (tap it to open reviews), and shows a row of Similar items at the bottom, using the business's own wording (for example "Similar Menu Items" or "Similar Packages"). Tapping one opens it directly.
  • The website shows a Reviews section lower down the page where available, rather than a rating summary at the top, and does not show a similar-items row. If a product has no written description, the website falls back to showing just its name, so you may see a shorter page for simpler items.

Reading the details

The description is where a business explains the product — ingredients, sizes, what's included in a package, terms, and so on. Simpler items may have a very short description or none at all.

tip

Prices are shown exactly as the business set them, including the currency. If you don't see a price on a card or page, the business simply hasn't listed one for that item.

Interacting with a product

Every product page gives you a set of actions:

  • Like — tap the heart to show you like it. Tap again to remove your like.
  • Comment — open the comments to read what others said and add your own.
  • Share — send the product to friends. On mobile this opens your phone's share sheet; on the web it uses your browser's share option, or copies the link if sharing isn't available. You'll get a "Copied" (app) or "Link copied" (web) confirmation when the link is copied.
  • Bookmark — save the product so you can find it again later in your bookmarks.

On the website, if you're signed in you'll also see a Report button to flag a product that's wrong or inappropriate. (The mobile app doesn't show a report action on the product page.)

Signing in

Liking and bookmarking are tied to your account. If you're signed out and tap them, you'll be asked to log in first. You can browse, read, and share products without an account.

Here's how a typical product journey flows:

Reviews on products

Where reviews are available, the product page lets you see an overall rating and read what other people said. On the mobile app you'll notice the rating summary near the top of the page — tap it to open the full reviews. Adding your own review works the same way it does for businesses and events across eNepali.

tip

Reviews help other members decide, so if you've tried something, leaving an honest review is a great way to help the community.

How products relate to businesses

Products never stand alone — each one is offered by a business, and each collection is owned by a business. This connection runs both ways:

  • From any product or collection, tap the business name to visit that business's full profile.
  • From any business profile, browse its products (and, in the app, its collections) in one place.

This makes it easy to start from something you're interested in and discover everything else that business offers — or to start from a business you follow and see what's new.

info

Following a business (using the Follow button on its profile, or on a collection in the app) helps eNepali surface more of what it shares in your feed over time.
