Photo Galleries
Photo galleries are collections of images that businesses and organizations on eNepali share — think event photos, product shots, or a look inside a place. This page shows you how to view galleries, open individual photos, read captions, and where galleries turn up as you browse.
What a gallery is
A gallery has a title, the business or organization that posted it, and a set of photos. Some photos also carry a short caption. You'll come across galleries in three places:
- In your feed, mixed in with news, posts, products, and events
- On a business or organization page, under its own gallery section
- On a dedicated gallery page, which you reach by opening any gallery
You don't need an account to look at galleries — anyone can view them. Signing in lets you like, comment on, bookmark, and share the ones you enjoy.
Galleries in your feed
As you scroll your feed, galleries appear as photo cards. Each card shows the photo (or photos), the gallery's title, and the name of the business that posted it, along with buttons to like, comment, share, and bookmark.
When a gallery has more than one photo, the card becomes a swipeable carousel:
- Swipe left or right (or drag on the web) to move between photos.
- Small dots below the photos show your position in the set.
- Tap the title (or the card) to open the full gallery page.
In the app, a multi-photo card shows a counter in the top corner, like 2/5. If the gallery holds more photos than the card previews, it reads something like 2/5 · 40 total so you know there's more inside. Tapping a photo opens it in the full-screen viewer, and you can double-tap a photo to like it — a heart animation pops up. On the web, the card shows the position dots but not the numeric counter or the double-tap gesture, and tapping a photo takes you to the full gallery page rather than a separate viewer.
Reacting to a gallery from the feed
Every gallery card has an action bar so you can respond without leaving your feed:
- Like — tap the heart to show you enjoyed it.
- Comment — open the comments to read what others said or add your own.
- Share — send the gallery to friends inside or outside eNepali.
- Bookmark — save it to your bookmarks to find again later.
Liking and bookmarking require an account — if you're signed out and tap either, eNepali invites you to log in first. You can open the comments and read them without signing in, but posting your own comment does need an account. Sharing and simply viewing work without one.
Opening a gallery
Tap a gallery's title (or the card itself) to open its full page. There you'll see:
- The title at the top
- The business or organization that posted it, which you can tap to visit their page
- A grid of all the photos in the gallery
The photos are laid out three across. If a gallery has many photos, only the first batch loads at first.
On the web, when there are more photos to show, a Load more photos button appears at the bottom — tap it to bring in the next set. In the app, more photos load automatically as you scroll toward the end of the grid.
Viewing a single photo up close
In the app, tap any photo in the grid to open the full-screen viewer. From there you can:
- Scroll up and down through every photo in the gallery, one large image at a time
- Pinch to zoom in on a photo for a closer look
- Read each photo's caption below the image
- Tap the X in the top corner to close the viewer and return to the grid
The full-screen, zoomable single-photo viewer is an app feature. On the web, the gallery page shows the photos in the grid with their captions, but tapping a grid photo does not open a separate zoom view.
Image captions
Some photos include a short caption written by whoever posted the gallery — a name, a place, or a note about the moment.
- In the feed, captions travel with the photo behind the scenes.
- On the gallery page grid, a photo's caption appears along the bottom edge of that photo.
- In the app's full-screen viewer, the caption appears centered just beneath each photo as you scroll.
Not every photo has a caption, and that's fine — a photo without one simply shows no text.
Galleries on business and organization pages
Every business or organization page gathers its galleries in one place. Open a business page and look for its Gallery section. What you see there depends on whether you're on the web or in the app.
On the web, galleries are shown as cards, two across, each with a cover photo and title. When a gallery holds more than one photo, the card notes the count, like 12 photos. If a gallery has no cover photo yet, its card shows a No preview placeholder. Tap any card to open that gallery's full page.
In the app, galleries are stacked as full-width cards, one per row. Each card shows a small preview collage of the first few photos, the title, and a share icon. Tapping a card opens the gallery's photos straight in the full-screen viewer.
The gallery section only appears when a business actually has galleries to show. If you don't see one, that business hasn't posted any photos yet.
Sharing and saving galleries
You can pass a gallery along or keep it for later:
- Share — use the share button on a gallery card (or the share icon on a gallery page) to send a link. Anyone who opens the link lands on that gallery, on the web or in the app.
- Bookmark — from a feed card, tap the bookmark icon to save a gallery to your bookmarks. You'll find your saved galleries alongside your other saved items.
On a gallery's own page, the app offers a share button and lets you follow the business right there in the header. On the web gallery page, sharing is available; liking, commenting, and bookmarking are done from the gallery's feed card rather than the page itself.
When there's nothing to show
Depending on where you are, an empty gallery reads a little differently:
- An open gallery with no photos yet shows No images in this gallery.
- On the web, a business with no galleries shows No galleries yet in its gallery section.
- The app's full-screen viewer, if it can't load a gallery's photos, shows No images available.
If a gallery you expected seems empty, it may simply be new — check back a little later.
