Events

Events on eNepali help you discover what's happening in your Nepali community — concerts, festivals, food nights, sports, tech meetups, and more. You can browse events near you, mark yourself as Interested, set a reminder before it starts, join the conversation in the comments, and message the organizer directly through Kura-Kani.

Finding events​

There are two easy ways to reach events on eNepali.

  • Open the Events page (titled Events at the top).
  • Or open the Events tab in your home feed — it shows the same list.

Both places share the same layout: a row of category chips across the top, a date filter on the right, and a list of events grouped by day.

Filtering by category​

Tap or click a category chip to narrow the list. The available categories are:

  • All (the default — shows everything)
  • Music
  • Food & Drink
  • Sports
  • Arts
  • Tech
  • Festival
  • Business
  • Community

The chip you have selected turns blue. Tap All at any time to clear the category filter.

Filtering by date​

Next to the category chips is a date filter. Tap it to choose one of:

  • Upcoming (the default — events that haven't ended yet)
  • Today
  • Tomorrow
  • This week
  • This month
  • Later
  • Past (events that have already happened)

Events are sorted so the ones nearest to you appear first, and they're grouped under day headings like Today, Tomorrow, or a date such as Fri, Jun 6. Events without a confirmed date are grouped under Date to be announced.

Nothing showing under "Upcoming"?

When the Upcoming filter is empty, eNepali reminds you that there are no upcoming events and suggests choosing Past to see events that already happened. So an empty list usually just means nothing is coming up right now — not that events are missing.

Web vs App

On the web, the standalone Events page opens in a focused column with a back button; opened as a tab in your home feed it sits inline without one. In the app, Events appears both as its own screen and as a tab in your home feed. In the app, pull down to refresh the list; on the web the list loads more as you scroll.

Opening an event​

Tap or click any event card to open its full details. Inside an event you'll find:

  • A cover image with the event's category label and a date badge.
  • The event title and the organizer (tap the organizer's name to visit their page).
  • A Date & Time line, the Venue (with how far away it is), and the Price — either a Free Entry label or the ticket price.
  • An About this Event description. Tap Show more to read the full text, or Show less to collapse it.
  • A Getting There section with the address, rough Walk and Taxi time estimates, and an Open in Google Maps button for directions.
  • Buttons to like, comment, share, and bookmark the event.

Online events

If an event is online, the location simply shows Online event and the Getting There map section is hidden.

Marking yourself Interested (RSVP)​

At the bottom of every event is a sticky Interested button that stays visible as you scroll.

  1. Open the event.
  2. Tap Interested at the bottom. The heart fills in and the interested count goes up by one.
  3. To change your mind, tap Interested again — it clears your RSVP (and removes any reminder you set).

When at least one person is interested, the count is shown near the organizer's name, so you can see how popular an event is.

You'll need to be logged in

Marking yourself Interested requires an account. On the web, if you're signed out eNepali takes you to the login screen first, then brings you back to the event. In the app, you'll see a message asking you to log in to RSVP.

Setting a reminder​

Right after you mark yourself Interested, eNepali offers to remind you before the event starts so you don't miss it.

  1. Mark yourself Interested.
  2. A Remind me chooser appears. Pick when you'd like to be reminded:
    • 1 week before
    • 1 day before
    • 3 hours before
    • 1 hour before
    • No reminder
  3. Once set, eNepali confirms it and will notify you at that time.

You can change your reminder later from the same event, and choosing No reminder turns it off.

Web vs App

In the app, the reminder choices slide up from the bottom as a sheet with a Cancel option, and a Reminder row appears in the event details once one is set (tap it to change). On the web, the reminder choices appear inline as buttons on the event page and you get a brief "Reminder set" confirmation. The reminder options are the same on both.

Commenting on an event​

Every event has a Comments section where you can join the discussion.

  1. Open the event and scroll to Comments, or tap the comment button in the row of action buttons — it jumps you straight to the comments.
  2. Type your comment and post it.
  3. You can like others' comments, and edit or delete your own. Tap Load more comments to see older ones.

You'll need to be logged in to post or like a comment. If you're signed out, eNepali will prompt you to log in first.

Adding an event to your calendar​

Some events show an Add to Calendar button next to Interested at the bottom of the page (labeled simply Calendar in the app). Tap it to save the event to your own calendar with the correct Nepal time, so it appears alongside your other plans.

Availability

The calendar button is being rolled out gradually, so you may not see it on every event yet. When it's available, it appears right beside the Interested button.

Web vs App

On the web, the calendar button downloads a calendar file (or opens the event's calendar link) that you can import into your calendar app. In the mobile app, it opens the event in your calendar (or a calendar app) with the event details already filled in.

Messaging the organizer​

If you have a question about an event, you can message the organizer privately.

  1. Open the event and scroll to the Have a question? section.
  2. Tap Write to Organizer.
  3. A Kura-Kani conversation opens, tied to that specific event, so the organizer knows exactly which event you're asking about.

This option appears only when the event is run by a business or organization on eNepali. If you're signed out, eNepali sends you to log in first.

Kura-Kani keeps it organized

Because the chat is linked to the event, all your messages about that event stay in one thread — separate from any other conversation you might have with the same organizer.

Quick reference​

  • Find events: Events page or the Events tab in your home feed.
  • Filter: category chips (Music, Food & Drink, Sports, and more) plus a date filter (Today, This week, Past, and so on).
  • Interested / RSVP: the sticky Interested button at the bottom of an event.
  • Reminder: choose 1 week, 1 day, 3 hours, or 1 hour before — right after marking Interested.
  • Comment: the Comments section on each event.
  • Add to Calendar: the button beside Interested (labeled Calendar in the app), where available.
  • Message the organizer: Write to Organizer in the Have a question? section.
