Liking, Commenting & Sharing
Across eNepali you can react to almost anything you see: give it a like, join the conversation with a comment, and pass it along to friends. This works on posts, news, events, products, and photo galleries — on both the website and the mobile app.
What you can like, comment on, and share
Most content in eNepali carries a little row of actions: a heart to like, a speech bubble to comment, and an arrow to share (detail pages and cards usually add a bookmark to save something for later, too). You'll find this row on:
- Posts from businesses and organizations you follow
- News articles (Nepali and world news)
- Events happening near you or in the wider Nepali community
- Products and product collections from local businesses
- Photo galleries
Business and organization pages can also be shared, so you can send a friend straight to a shop or organization.
You can browse, open a comment thread, and read every comment as a guest. eNepali only asks you to sign in when you try to like, post a comment, reply, or bookmark — it sends you to the sign-in screen and then returns you to what you were doing. Sharing does not require an account: anyone can open the share sheet and send a link. (When a guest shares, the public share count simply isn't incremented.)
Liking content
A like is the quickest way to show you enjoyed something. It's a single tap, and you can undo it just as easily.
- Find the heart icon under the post, news article, event, product, or gallery.
- Tap it. The heart fills in to show your like was counted, and the number next to it goes up by one.
- Tap it again to remove your like — the heart empties out and the count goes back down.
Your like registers instantly, even before the app finishes talking to the server. If something goes wrong, eNepali quietly puts the count back the way it was. On the web (and on the app's content action bar) you'll also see a brief "Could not update like" message.
The heart on the main content (a post, a news story) likes that whole item. Comments have their own small heart — tapping it likes just that one comment. See Liking a comment below.
Commenting
Comments are where the conversation happens. You can add your own, like the ones you agree with, and edit or delete anything you wrote. Reply threads are available in one specific place in the app (see below).
Where comments live
- On the web, tapping the comment icon in the action row opens a slide-up comments panel. On the event page the comments live inline instead, as a "Comments (N)" section, and the comment icon scrolls you down to it. There's also a dedicated full-page comment view for a single item, reached from the Kura-Kani area.
- In the app, tapping the comment icon opens a comments panel that slides up from the bottom. The full Comment Thread screen — the one with reply threads and the original content shown in a card at the top — is opened separately from the Kura-Kani › Comments tab.
Adding a comment
- Tap the comment icon on the item you want to talk about.
- In the box at the bottom, type your message. The placeholder reads "Add comment" on the web and "Add a comment" (or "Write a comment…" in the Comment Thread screen) on the app.
- Post it: on the web tap the Send button; on the app tap the round send (paper-plane) button next to the box. (The inline comments box on an event in the app uses a Post button instead.)
Your comment appears in the thread right away. While a brand-new comment is still being saved, the app briefly shows a faded "Sending…" tag and a small spinner next to it.
A single comment can be up to 1,000 characters. When you're editing a comment on the web, a small counter (for example 12/1000) shows how much of that limit you've used.
Replying to a comment (app Comment Thread)
Reply threads live in the app's Comment Thread screen (opened from Kura-Kani › Comments). Each comment there has a Reply button.
- Tap Reply under the comment you want to respond to.
- A "Replying to [name]" banner appears above the text box. Type your reply and send it.
- To back out, tap the small × on that banner.
Replies appear tucked under the comment they answer. When a comment has replies, you'll see a count (for example 3 replies) you can tap to show or hide them.
Threaded replies are only in the app's Comment Thread screen. The comment panels you open by tapping the comment icon on a post, news item, event, product, or gallery — on both the web and the app — show a flat list: you add your comment to the conversation rather than nesting it under another one.
Liking a comment
Every comment has its own small heart:
- Tap it to like the comment; tap again to unlike.
- The number beside the heart shows how many people liked that comment.
Editing your own comment
You can edit a comment you wrote from the web comment panels and from the app's comment panel (the one that opens from the comment icon).
- Under your comment, tap Edit.
- Change the text in the box (the character limit is still 1,000).
- Tap Save to keep your changes, or Cancel to leave it as it was.
Once a comment has been changed, it's marked with a small · edited label so the conversation stays honest.
The app's full Comment Thread screen (in Kura-Kani) lets you reply and delete but not edit. To reword a comment there, delete it and post again.
Deleting your own comment
You can always remove a comment you wrote.
- On the web, tap Delete under your comment. A confirmation asks "Delete this comment?" before it's removed.
- In the app, tap the ••• menu next to your comment and choose Delete. A confirmation box appears — tap Delete again to remove it. In the app's Comment Thread screen, your own comments are marked with a You badge so they're easy to spot.
Finding your own comments (app Comment Thread)
If a thread is long, the app's Comment Thread screen helps you jump to the comments you left. When you have comments in a thread, a small My Comments navigator appears near the top with previous and next arrows that scroll to each of your comments in turn and highlight them.
When there are no comments yet
If nobody has commented, you'll see a friendly empty state. Most surfaces show "No comments yet"; the app's Comment Thread screen adds "Be the first to comment!" to invite you in.
Sharing
Sharing sends content out of eNepali to friends and family, wherever you like to chat.
- Tap the share icon (the arrow) on the post, news, event, product, gallery, or business page.
- Your device's own share sheet opens. Pick an app or contact — messaging, email, social media, or copy the link.
- If a share sheet isn't available (mainly on the web, or if the native sheet fails), eNepali copies the link for you instead and confirms — "Link copied" on the web, "Copied" on the app.
Whoever you send it to gets a direct eNepali link that opens the same content.
- On the app, tapping share opens your phone's native share sheet, the same one you use in other apps. It shares the item's title together with a link.
- On the web, if your browser supports sharing (common on phones), you get the native share sheet too. On browsers that don't, eNepali copies the link to your clipboard instead and shows "Link copied".
Each time a signed-in person shares, the little number next to the share icon ticks up. It's a rough sense of how far a piece of content has traveled.

- Edit: tap Edit under your own comment (web panels and the app comment panel); it's marked · edited afterward. The app's Comment Thread screen doesn't edit — delete and repost instead.
- Delete: remove your own comment (web: Delete; app: ••• menu → Delete), confirming when asked.
- Share: tap the arrow to open your device's share sheet, or copy the link automatically — no account required.
- Liking, commenting, replying, and bookmarking require you to be signed in; browsing and sharing don't.
