Nepali Calendar (Patro)
The Nepali Calendar (Patro) brings the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar into eNepali, so you can see today's Nepali date, browse any month, and spot public holidays at a glance. Separately, on event pages, you can add an event's date and time straight into your own phone or computer calendar.
What the Nepali Calendar shows
When you open the Nepali Calendar, you see a full month laid out just like a printed patro:
- A month view with the Nepali month name and Bikram Sambat year at the top (for example, the current month and year).
- Each day in a box. The large number is the Nepali (BS) day, and the small number underneath is the matching English (AD) day of the month, so you can read both at once.
- The days of the week run across the top, from Sunday through Saturday.
- Saturdays and public holidays appear in red, the same way you would expect on a Nepali calendar.
- Today is highlighted with a soft golden outline so it is easy to find at a glance.
You will also see small colored dots on some days:
- A red dot marks a public holiday.
- A blue dot means there are events on that day.
Every day box shows both dates together: the Bikram Sambat day in large type and the English (AD) day just below it in small type. You do not have to convert between them in your head, they are always shown together.
Browsing months
The calendar opens on the current Nepali (Bikram Sambat) month. To look at other months:
- Open the Nepali Calendar.
- Click the ‹ arrow at the top left to go to the previous month.
- Click the › arrow at the top right to go to the next month.
The month name and year at the top update as you move, and moving past the start or end of a year rolls you into the neighboring year automatically.
Use the arrows to jump ahead and plan around upcoming holidays, or step back to check a date that has already passed.
Nepali and English dates
The calendar is shown in Nepali, with Nepali month names, Nepali weekday names, and Nepali numerals. Every day still shows its English (AD) day underneath the Nepali date, so both calendars are always in view. This makes it easy to tell a friend or family member "that is the 15th in English" while you are looking at the Nepali date.
Where to find it
The browsable Nepali Calendar (Patro) — the month view with holidays and dual dates — is available on the eNepali website. In the mobile app, there is no separate Patro screen to browse months. What the mobile app does offer is the Calendar button on events, described below.
Adding an event date to your own calendar
Whenever eNepali shows you an event you care about, you can save its date and time directly into the calendar app you already use, such as the calendar on your phone, Google Calendar, or Outlook.
- Open the event you are interested in.
- Look at the action bar on the event page.
- Choose Add to Calendar (on the website) or Calendar (in the mobile app).
- eNepali hands the event to your device as a standard calendar file. Confirm to add it to your own calendar.
Once added, the event lives in your personal calendar with the correct date, time, and time zone, so you will see it and get your usual reminders even when you are not in eNepali.
In the mobile app, if your device cannot open the calendar file directly, eNepali quietly falls back to a pre-filled Google Calendar entry so you can still save the event.

If the calendar does not load
If the Nepali Calendar cannot load for some reason, you will see a short "calendar unavailable" message in its place. This is usually temporary. Refresh the page or check back in a little while, and it should return to normal.
The Nepali Calendar and the Add to Calendar / Calendar button on events are still being rolled out and may not appear on every account yet. They are turned on together, so if you do not see one, you may not see the other for now. If neither has reached your account, it simply has not been switched on for you yet.
