Saved & Bookmarks

Bookmarks are your personal collection of saved content on eNepali. Whenever you find a news story, post, event, product, photo gallery, or business you want to come back to, save it with one tap and find it again anytime on your Bookmarks page.

What you can save​

You can bookmark almost anything you see in your feed or on a detail page:

  • News stories (Nepali and world news)
  • Posts from businesses and organizations you follow
  • Events happening near you or in the Nepali community
  • Products from local businesses
  • Photo galleries
  • Businesses and organizations themselves

Everything you save lands in one place, so you never have to hunt through your feed to find that article or event again.

You need to be signed in

Bookmarks are tied to your account. You have to be signed in to save anything or to open your Bookmarks page. If you are browsing as a guest and tap save, eNepali will send you to the sign-in screen first.

How to save something​

Look for the bookmark icon (a ribbon/flag shape) on any piece of content. It sits in the row of action buttons alongside like, comment and share — the bookmark is the last one in that row, both in your feed and on the full detail page.

  1. Find the news story, post, event, product, gallery or business you want to keep.
  2. Tap the bookmark icon.
  3. The icon fills in to show it is saved, and the count next to it goes up by one.

That's it. The item is now in your Bookmarks.

To remove a bookmark, tap the same filled bookmark icon again. It empties out and the item is no longer saved.

Instant feedback

The bookmark icon fills in the moment you tap it, before it even finishes saving. If something goes wrong (for example, you lose your connection), it quietly reverts so you always see the true state.

Finding everything you saved​

Your Bookmarks page lives inside your profile.

  1. Go to your Profile.
  2. Tap Bookmarks (on the web it reads "Saved posts, news, and businesses"; in the app, "View your saved items").

Your saved items appear most-recent-first, in the same card layout you know from your feed. You can open any of them to read, watch or view the full thing.

Filtering by type​

Across the top of the Bookmarks page is a row of filter chips so you can narrow down what you're looking at:

  • All
  • Posts
  • News
  • Products
  • Galleries
  • Businesses (labelled Organizations in the mobile app)

Tap any chip to show only that kind of saved content. Tap All to see everything together again.

Where saved events show up

Saved events don't have their own filter chip. You'll still find them under All together with everything else you've saved.

Loading more​

Your Bookmarks page loads a batch at a time.

Web vs App
  • On the web, more saved items load automatically as you scroll down. When you reach the end, you'll see an "All caught up" message.
  • In the mobile app, scroll to load more, and pull down from the top to refresh the list and pick up anything you've saved recently.

Keeping things tidy​

You can un-save an item from two places:

  • From the content itself — tap the filled bookmark icon on any card or detail page to remove it.
  • From your Bookmarks page — tap the bookmark icon on the saved card to remove it. In the mobile app the card disappears from the list right away; on the web the icon simply empties, and the card drops off next time the page reloads.
Just saved something new?

When you bookmark something fresh, it may not pop into an already-open Bookmarks list instantly. On mobile, pull down to refresh and it will appear. On the web, it shows up next time the page loads.

Empty states — what you'll see​

If you haven't saved anything yet, or nothing matches the filter you picked, the page shows a friendly note instead of a blank screen:

  • With no filter: a "No bookmarks yet" heading, with a hint to start bookmarking posts, news, and other content to see them here.
  • With a filter selected (say, Products) and nothing saved of that type: a message telling you there are no bookmarks of that kind yet, so you can switch back to All or save something first.
Your bookmarks follow you everywhere

Because bookmarks are saved to your account, anything you save on your phone shows up on the web, and the other way around. Sign in on any device and your whole collection is there.
