Accounts & Signing In
You can explore eNepali as a guest, but signing in unlocks the parts that make it yours: following organizations, commenting, messaging in Kura-Kani, writing reviews, saving bookmarks, and a feed personalized to you. This page walks you through creating an account, verifying it, signing in, and managing your account over time.
Your eNepali account works the same on the web at enepali.com and in the iOS/Android app. Sign in once on each device and eNepali keeps you signed in until you sign out.
Do you even need an account?
You can browse news, organizations, businesses, and events without signing in — both on the web and in the app.
- On the web, choose Continue without signing in on the login screen.
- In the app, tap Continue as Guest on the login screen.
You'll be prompted to sign in the moment you try to do something that belongs to you — following, commenting, messaging, reviewing, or bookmarking.
Creating an account

- Go to the sign-up screen.
- Web: open enepali.com and choose Sign up (or go to the Create account page).
- App: on the login screen, tap Sign up. If sign-in with Google or Apple is available, you'll first see a choice between Create account (Email) and the social buttons — tap Create account (Email) to open the form.
- Fill in your details. The required fields are marked with a star:
- First name and Last name
- Password and Confirm password
- Optionally add more, which helps personalize your feed:
- Country, then State / Region and City
- Phone (optional)
- Username (optional, web only) — your public handle. In the app you set your username later from Edit profile, not during sign-up.
- Choose a password that meets all the requirements (see below). A live checklist shows each rule turning green as you type.
- If a quick "I'm human" check appears, complete it. (This only shows on the web when it's switched on.)
- Choose Create account (web) or Sign Up (app).
After this, eNepali emails you a verification code. Continue to Verifying your account to finish.
Your password must have:
- At least 8 characters
- One uppercase letter
- One lowercase letter
- One number
- One special character (like
!@#$%)
To check what you typed, tap the eye icon inside the password box on the sign-up screen. (On the password-reset page, tick the Show password box instead.)
The web sign-up form shows the location fields (Country, State/Region, City) and a Username field inline on one page. The app collects the same core details in its own mobile layout, but it does not include a username field at sign-up — you can add a username afterward from Edit profile. Either way, the required fields are the same: name, email, and password.
Signing up with Apple or Google
Instead of filling in the form, you can create your account (or sign in) with one tap:
- On the web, use the Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple button.
- In the app, use the same buttons on the login screen.
These buttons only appear when that option is turned on for your device. Signing up this way skips the emailed code — Apple or Google confirms your identity for you.
Verifying your account with a code
To keep eNepali free of fake accounts, we confirm your email with a one-time code (OTP) — a short number sent to your inbox.

- Open your email and find the message from eNepali with your code.
- Type the 6-digit code into the verification field.
- Web: once you enter all six digits, it checks the code automatically. You can also choose Verify.
- App: enter the code and tap Verify and continue.
- That's it — you're signed in and land on your feed.
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Choose Resend (web) or Resend code (app) to get a new one. There's a short wait (about 60 seconds) before you can request another, shown as a countdown.
- Make sure you entered your email correctly. On the web you can choose Back to return to the form and fix it, then request a fresh code.
Here's the whole sign-up journey at a glance:
Signing in
Already have an account? Sign in with the email and password you registered.

- Open the login screen.
- Web: enepali.com, then Sign in (or the Login page).
- App: the app opens to the login screen; if you're already browsing as a guest, open your profile and sign in from there.
- Enter your email and password.
- Choose Sign in (web) or LOGIN (app).
Or use Sign in with Google / Sign in with Apple if you set up your account that way.
The sign-in field is labeled Email on the web and Username in the app — but in both cases you type the email address you signed up with.
If you try to sign in before confirming your email, eNepali takes you to the verification screen to enter a 6-digit code first. Once verified, you won't be asked again on future sign-ins.
Staying signed in
Once you sign in, eNepali keeps you signed in on that device — you don't need to log in every time you return. You'll stay signed in until you sign out yourself (or, occasionally, if a session expires and you're asked to sign in again).
Signing in on your phone and signing in on the web are separate — signing out of one does not sign you out of the other.
Forgetting and resetting your password
If you can't remember your password, you can reset it from the sign-in screen.
On the web:
- On the login screen, choose Forgot password?.
- Enter your email and choose Send reset link.
- You'll see a confirmation that a reset link is on its way. Open the email and select the link.
- On the reset page, enter your new password and confirm it (the same password rules apply), then choose Reset password.
- Return to the login screen and sign in with your new password.
In the app:
- On the login screen, tap Forgot password?.
- In the Reset Password box that appears, enter your email and tap Send Reset Link.
- You'll see a confirmation that the email was sent. Open the email and follow the link. If you have the app installed, the link opens in the app so you can choose your new password there; otherwise it opens the web reset page.
For your security, the reset link works only for a limited time and once. If it says the link is invalid or expired, just request a new one from Forgot password? and try again.
Changing your password while signed in
If you remember your current password and just want to change it, you don't need the "forgot password" flow.
- Web: open your profile, go to Security, and use the Change password section. Enter your current password, then your new password and confirm it.
- App: open your profile, go to Account Settings, then Change password. Enter your current password, new password, and confirmation.
On the web, the Security screen also lets you change your username (with a live check for whether it's available). In the app, changing your username lives under Edit profile, while changing your password lives under Account Settings → Change password.
Signing out
- Web: open your profile and choose Logout. You'll be asked to confirm.
- App: open your profile, tap Logout, and confirm ("Are you sure you want to log out?").
After signing out you can keep browsing as a guest, or sign back in anytime.
Deleting your account
If you want to leave eNepali, you can request that your account be deleted. eNepali confirms your choice before going ahead.
On the web:
- Open your profile and go to Delete Account (you can also reach the public Delete My Account page directly). You must be signed in.
- Optionally, tell us the reason you're leaving.
- Choose Request account deletion and confirm when prompted.
- Your account is deactivated and you're signed out.
In the app:
- Open your profile, go to Account Settings, then Delete my account.
- Optionally add a reason, then tap Delete my account and confirm.
- You're logged out immediately.
- You're logged out immediately and your account is archived.
- You can create a new account later with the same email if you change your mind.
- Some information is removed, including your profile details (name, email, phone, date of birth, profile picture), your username and login credentials, your preferences and notification settings, your bookmarks and saved content, and your push-notification tokens.
- Some information may be kept for a limited time or in anonymized form: transaction and activity logs (up to 90 days, for fraud prevention and legal compliance), public content you posted such as posts, comments, and reviews (may be anonymized rather than deleted), and anything the law requires us to retain.
On the web, if you've already submitted a deletion request and it's still pending, the Delete Account page shows the date you submitted it and a Cancel deletion request button so you can undo it.
